Ozbid was featured in The Daily Telegraph:
The auction catered for all budgets, OzBid head of art Giovanna Fragomeli said.
“There is a stigma that art is unaffordable,” Ms Fragomeli said.
“We had pieces selling for between $50 and $80.”
Pieces were sourced from OzBid’s connections with galleries, dealers and collectors.
There were 98 registrations on the day including mum-and-dad investors, interior designers and small business owners.
The majority of the 120 attendees were locals, with a number coming from Mosman, the north shore and the eastern suburbs.
One phone bidder was an expat Aboriginal art collector from San Diego, Ms Fragomeli said.
The auction had several highly collectable pieces from well known artists including Damien Marks Tjangala and Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
